GENERAL INFORMATION (The Times-Herald, Newnan, Ga.)
Welcome to times-herald.com and our classifieds ‘Place Your Ad’ page where customers can typeset, schedule and pay
anytime – 24 hours per day – for classified line ads to appear both in print in The Times-Herald and on-line at times-herald.com.
Placing an ad online is a 6-step process. To get started, Step No. 1 is simply choose a Category from the drop-down menu above, choose a Classification from its drop-down menu, then click on "Continue" to take you to Step 2, Compose and Edit. Next, Step 3 is Preview Your Ad, followed by Step 4 Schedule Ad Dates, Step 5 Contact Information and confimation and finally, Step 6, Credit Card Payment. Just follow the instructions on the respective pages to complete your order. Once your order has been approved, a credit card transaction receipt will be emailed to you.
Prepayment is required for all ads placed online. Three major credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). American Express is NOT being accepted for "on-line orders" at this time.
Only line ads can be placed using our 'Place Your Ad' feature. Line ads can be placed for almost all classifications and readers still have the option of a pair of popular classified specials
(Yard Sales and Autos) which are featured in The Times-Herald. The minimum number of words for regular line ads is 12 words (equivalent to the 4-line Times-Herald print edition minimum) and 15 words for the Yard Sales and Auto Specials.
Bargain Buys Ads and/or Legal Advertisements can NOT be placed online using our 'Place Your Ad' feature.
CANCELING AN AD
NO REFUNDS will be made for 'Place Your Ad' online ads which are canceled prior to the completion of the scheduled publish end date. Customers can cancel the ad for its removal from the print edition and on-line edition to avoid additional phone calls or emails. The deadline for canceling an ad is the same
as the deadline for ad placement. You may cancel in person, over the
phone or via email.
EDITING ADS
Once a classified ad has been placed –
either online or by phone – the only way to make a change to the ad is
to contact the classifieds department at 770-253-1576 between the hours
of 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note deadlines
(generally 48 hours) do apply as to when the edit will appear in the
published ad.
YARD SALES SPECIAL
This 3-day special is a 15-word line ad for $29.20 and will appear in both The Times-Herald and times-herald.com. In
addition, you will receive a Free Yard Sale kit which includes 2 signs, 2 wooden stakes, 1 money apron, 48 price stickers,
1 inventory sheet, 1 “Tips for Success” flyer, 1 pencil, candy and balloons. You may pickup the kit after placing your ad
at The Times-Herald office located at 16 Jefferson Street, Newnan between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday. Cost per word over 15 words is 55 cents. For Friday only yard sales or Friday & Saturday yard sales, ads must be placed by Noon
on Monday. For Saturday only yard sales, ads must be placed by Noon on Tuesday.
PRIVATE PARTY VEHICLE SPECIAL
This 15-word line ad special (no dealers) gives you four different scheduling packages to work with - 7, 14, 21 or 28
days. The cost for 7 days is $30, for 14 days is $40, for 21 days is $50 and for 28 days is $60. The price of the vehicle
must be included. Cost per word over 15 words is 60 cents. The ad will be featured in The Times-Herald,
MyConnection and on times-herald.com. No refunds.

COMPOSING AD
- Start your ad with the item for sale, service you’re offering or job title.
- Line Ads only, 12-word minimum (15-word minimum for Yard Sales & Auto Specials)
- Include prices of every item you have for sale. It’s proven you will get quicker, better qualified response if prices are listed.
- Avoid abbreviations. They make the ad harder to read and much less effective; however, if you want to use abbreviations, you must select the proper abbreviation from our standard list. No other abbreviations will be allowed.(Link to abbreviations available in Step 2 “Compose Your Ad")
- Remember that your ad will be online, so place words in the ad that people are likely to search for.
POLICIES
- The Times-Herald also reserves the right to edit, reject, reclassify or cancel advertisements without prior notice.
- Please check your ad the first day of publication. In case of error, notify us immediately by calling 770-253-1576. Times-herald.com will be responsible only for the first insertion and then only for the space occupied by the error and does not assume any responsibility for an ad beyond the cost of the ad itself.
- Ads that require an investment of any kind, must run in the Business Opportunities classification found under category Announcements.
