Barnes & Noble, located in Ashley Park at 342 Newnan Crossing Bypass, has worked hard to support the needs of adults and children throughout the year. They have held bookfairs to provide funds for school media centers and local literacy groups, worked with the Coweta County School System to provide additional support for teachers and parents who are striving to meet the Georgia Performance Standards in each grade. During the holiday season last year, they ran a book drive that provided more than 1,800 books to children participating the the CAFI Headstart Program, and last summer they gave away more than 300 books to children participating in the Summer Reading program.
"We look forward to continuing these programs in the months and years to come," said Lynda Hawkins, community relations manager. "We have more than ten book fairs scheduled in the next three months and we'll announce the recipient of this year's holiday book drive at the beginning of November."
