Today's Senior/Boomer Expo, an event of the Newnan-Coweta Council on Aging will include a chance to "Get the Shred Out."
In addition to getting information on healthy lifestyles, home health care, travel and recreational opportunities, Expo attendees can also get documents shredded for free.
The Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the Coweta County Fairgrounds Conference Center on Pine Road.
Lizabeth Andrew of the Council on Aging said she's fielded lots of questions on the shredding campaign.
"Everybody seems to have a need for it," says Andrew. There is no limit to the amount of papers that can be brought in for secure shredding.
Andrew said the second annual event includes a "solid cadre" of exhibitors.
Also, the local 4-H program will have baked goods for sale, and Tom Little will be steaming up some hot dogs for purchase.
The Newnan-Coweta Council on Aging organizes this event to help baby boomers, seniors and caretakers plan for a positive future for themselves and loved ones. The event's theme is "Ideas for Life."
It's not just an event for the elderly, emphasized Connie Flanagan, council member. "We want you to know what's available for you and your parents," she said.
