Thieves attempt to steal copper from Peachtree Crossings

The Peachtree City Police Department is seeking information regarding an attempted theft of copper from the roof of Peachtree Crossings shopping center.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 26, two men were seen attempting to steal large amounts of copper from the rooftop area over a vacant business, the former Kroger, in the Peachtree City shopping center.

One male was seen on the roof, and was described as a light-skinned black male or a Hispanic male, according to police. The other male subject was described as a white male leaving in a white pickup truck with ladders on top.

There was a business sign observed on the side of the pickup truck possibly displaying the business name of "A-1 Roofing," or some other similar business name, police said. Extensive damage was caused to the rooftop area by the perpetrators in their attempt to remove copper piping.

If anyone has information that would assist the police department in these or other incidents, contact the Peachtree City Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510, or the Crime and Narcotics Information Hotline at 770-487-6010. You may remain anonymous.
