Mrs. Velma Gentry Kiser

Obituary

Mrs. Velma Gentry Kiser, 92, of Smyrna, Ga., and formerly of Grantville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Jewel Cline Kiser and was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Kiser; son, Doyle McMichen Sr; grandchildren, Tommy McMichen, Sara Ann McMichen, Marlene McMichen, Darlene McMichen, Lynn McMichen and Doyle McMichen Jr; sisters, Martha Chappell and Ruth Gentry; brothers, Harvey Gentry, Cliff Gentry, J.B. Gentry and Hubert Gentry. She was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly. Velma is survived by her children and their spouses, Bill McMichen of Calhoun, Wayne and Charlotte Kiser of Grantville, Ga., James and Linda Kiser of Knoxville, Tn., Lamar and Judy Kiser of Moreland, Ga., Runell and Clinton Smith of Smyrna, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ollen and Louise Gentry of Dalton, Harrison R. Gentry, Weldon and Joyce Gentry, all of Euharlee, Ga; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Satcher of Dalton, Emma Tate of Cartersville, Myra and Lewis Teems of Kingston, Ga., Magdeline and Lloyd Brookshire of Euharlee, Ga.; sister-in-law, Betty Gentry of Smyrna, Ga.; grandchildren, Jim and Kathy McMichen of Cambridge, IL., Sylvia McMichen of Marion, IL, Pam Bell of Calhoun, John and April McMichen of Cartersville, Greg McMichen and Tony McMichen, both of Calhoun, Anita and Drew Summers of San Antonio, Fl, Jesse and Eve Kiser of Knoxville, Tn., Stoney and Debbie Kiser of Dallas, Ga., Scott and Rhonda Kiser of Knoxville, Tn., Taranda and Tony Greene of Indian Trail, NC., Lamon and Kisha Kiser of Cartersville, Nathaniel and Jennifer Kiser of Kathleen, Ga., Stephanie and Jason Nation of Newnan, Ga.; 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Jack Giles, the Rev. Charlie Bell and the Rev. Phillips Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com. Love Funeral Home, 1402 N.
