The Marquis de Lafayette Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of American Revolution, welcomed members of the Pathfinder Excursion Squadron of Sea Cadets at its June meeting.
LTJG Robert Wylie, commanding officer, and Cadet Seaman Apprentice James Brown presented a program outlining the concepts and opportunities offered by the U.S. Navy League-sponsored Sea Cadets.
Pathfinder Excursion Squadron, an aviation unit, is located in Newnan, meeting at the Coweta County Regional Airport every other Saturday.
"Sea Cadets fosters leadership and broadens horizons through hands-on experience with regular naval sea and air command operations, helping our young men and women set and reach new goals," according to Commanding Officer and SAR member Wylie. "Among those reaching goals are C/SA Will Heinzel and Brown, both recipients of three successive academic awards in the Sea Cadet program," said Wylie.
