Lee, Madras girls stay unbeaten

Lee and Madras middle school's girls soccer teams stayed unbeaten on Thursday with victories, with both teams improving to 3-0.

The Timberwolves received goals from Taylor Hendrix, Serenity Waters and Anna Lauzon in a 3-0 shutout over Smokey Road. Raye Sutton earned the shutout and Shayna Healy had an assist.

Smokey Road goalie Emily Finger made nine saves for the Wildcats (0-3).

Madras' offense exploded for eight goals in an 8-1 win over Evans (0-3). Amber Whatley scored twice for the Eagles and added an assist to lead the win. Anna Lawrence also had a goal and an assist, while Rebecca Turner, Logan Perry, Caitlin Bellora, Katie Mitchell and Mattea Lewis also scored for Madras.

Lauren Hovey also had an assist for Madras.

Evans' goal was scored by Maggie Darracott.

Also in girls action, Arnall and East Coweta battled to a 1-1 tie at East Coweta. Courtney Myers scored for the Knights (1-1-1) on an assist from Abby Pepper. Courtney Cowell scored for the Indians, now 0-2-1.

In boys action, Lee also remained undefeated with a 2-0 win over Smokey Road on a pair of goals by Boomer Hayes. David Noe added an assist and John Spavelko made five saves in net for the Timberwolves (3-0).

Madras' boys improved to 2-0-1 this season with a 4-0 shutout of Evans. Jonathan Cortez had three goals and Giovanni Perez had a pair of assists for the Eagles (2-0-1).

Alex Roemer also had a goal for Madras and Skylar Skelton and Josue Araya had assists.

East Coweta's boys stayed undefeated, tying Arnall 1-1 in a game at Arnall. Bryson Asher scored for the Indians (1-0-2) and Arnall's goal came from Carter Byrum. Brian Rudd kept the Knights (0-1-1) in the game in goal.
